Kenyan is famous for a ‘welcoming smile’ from friendly natives. To be honest about half of people here live below poverty line, but despite these challenges, Kenyan people especially the ones in the rural areas, can be branded as ‘smiling folks’. This will be a big plus to many other interesting features you encounter in Kenya. In terms of size, Kenya, is a small country (586,600km2) that is 4½ times larger than England and slightly smaller than the State of Texas, USA, and just about the same size as the Island of Madagascar. Despite her size, it is one of birdwatchers and mammals paradises where habitats and birds change rapidly as does other wildlife, culture and landscapes. A visitor can enjoy these fantastic combination of menu of features by selecting one or combination of circuits/routes. These tourists’ circuits or routes commence mostly in Nairobi and Mombasa Cities, but can be tailor-made to suit a visitor’s interests and a selection of accommodations and camping sites. There are a suite of expeditions which can be organized to suit your ‘pocket’ therefore, do not shy away from making an effort to visit Kenya. Kenya can be toured by one or a combination of the following destinations circuits/routes which offers an opportunity to see many birds, mammals, butterflies, landscapes and cultural features.

 THE NAIROBI METROPOLITAN CIRCUIT

Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya or ‘East Africa’. This expedition begins at Nairobi or can be continued from another source.  Nairobi National Park the ‘only park within a city’ in the world teeming with wildlife such as the Black rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffaloes, Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elands and more than 250 bird species. Special places which can be visited around Nairobi City include;

THE KENYAN COASTAL CIRCUIT

Mombasa is the largest coastal town in Kenya. Kenyans call it ‘Mombasa Raha’ translated ‘Mombasa Happiness’. It is said that just as you enter the city there is an imaginary imposing signpost written ‘it is easy to enter but not to leave’ suggesting the city’s ability to captivate visitors to stay longer than planned. Some visitors only come once, saw, and were conquered, since they have stayed the rest of their lives.  This expedition can begin in Mombasa City or be continued from another source.   6. Shimba Hills National Park-the only park in Kenya watch Sable Antelope; large number of elephants and many more than 250 bird species

THE TSAVO CONSERVATION AREA CIRCUIT

This circuit is famous for its ‘true wilderness or naturalness’ due to the vastness of parks, where you get nestled into midst of serene nature daytime enchanted by pure sunrise and sunsets, rolling horizons and landscapes and at night by clear skies adorned by million stars. This area is so big and wild, that it is the best place to come if one wanted a hideout for meditation, where there is no disturbance from internet, mobiles calls and people. This is the only place to be one with nature, your mind and life. This expedition can begin from Nairobi or Mombasa cities, and main attractions include is mammals and bird species.   1. Tsavo East National Park the largest park or in Kenya to see the largest congregations of elephants; Yatta Plateau of largest plateau in the world and Mudanda Rock; David’s Shieldrick’s Orphanage for rescue and restoration of abandoned mammal species.


  1. Tsavo West National Park the second largest park (906,500 ha) to see Mzima Springs for aquatic wildlife, Ngulia Annual Bird Ringing/Banding Project for bird birders; Rhino sanctuary for rhino conservation and Taita Cultural center for local Taita people; Lake Jipe for waterfowl species.


  1. Amboseli National Park and Kimana wildlife Sanctuary for mammal species viewing. Throughout this circuit you will see more than 300 bird species, 50 mammal species, many majestic baobab trees and Maasai cultural traditions.

Chyulu Hills National Park, with lava flows and more than 200 bird species and large mammals including African Buffalo, Common Eland, Bushbucks, Mountain Reedbuck, Steinbok , Bushpig, Leopard  and at times the African Elephant.   At Chyulu Lodge, on the northwest slopes, caters for visitors interested in walking or horse-riding in the hills, or photography of mammals, birds, butterflies, reptiles and amphibians and plants.


THE GREAT LAKE AND WESTERN KENYA CIRCUIT

Western Kenya is ‘unexploited’ nature and cultural paradise with many indigenous forests, wetlands and Lake Victoria-an impressive and largest inland lake in Africa which straddles three countries (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania). This tour will be incomplete without a stay in Kisumu City and can begin from Kisumu or Nairobi cities. Some important features to sample include;

THE MT. KENYA AND SAMBURU CIRCUIT

The Central and Laikipia plains in Northern Kenya is famous and remarkable for hiking sites, large quantities of plain games and cultural traditions.
